Wasabi Farm Poland cultivates authentic wasabi near Radom

Wasabi Farm Poland, located in the southern Mazovia region near Radom, has established what it claims is the first wasabi farm in Poland and continental Europe. The farm specializes in the Mazuma variety, which is highly valued for its specific aroma, flavor, and culinary properties.

Cultivating authentic wasabi is a complex process that requires precise environmental conditions, including high humidity, shade, clean water, and specific soil. The farm utilizes the traditional Japanese ‘sawa’ method, which involves flowing clean, uncontaminated water through prepared substrates to mimic the plant's natural habitat.

Due to the difficulty of the cultivation process and the long maturation period—often requiring approximately two years for the first harvest—the product commands a high market price. Fresh wasabi rhizomes can cost between 1,200 and 1,500 PLN per kilogram.
