Washington 3rd Congressional District race sees surge in outside spending

Campaign spending is increasing in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District as the election approaches. The race features incumbent Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez against Republican State Senator John Braun.

Political action committees (PACs) have spent approximately $2.03 million in support of Braun or in opposition to Gluesenkamp Perez since the August primary. In contrast, PACs supporting Gluesenkamp Perez or opposing Braun have spent roughly $246,885. The Congressional Leadership Fund, a major Republican-aligned PAC, has contributed $1.19 million toward digital and television advertising to oppose the incumbent.
