Washington Capitals permit Ivan Miroshnichenko to seek trade

The Washington Capitals have granted forward Ivan Miroshnichenko and his representatives permission to discuss a trade with other NHL teams. The 22-year-old right winger, a former first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, has struggled to secure consistent playing time due to the team's deep forward group.

Capitals coach Spencer Carbery noted that while the coaching staff likes Miroshnichenko and values his performance in limited appearances, the current roster depth has pushed him out of the lineup. Analysts suggest a trade may provide the young player with a fresh start to find more regular playing time.
