Washington Capitals suffer first home loss to Seattle Kraken

The Washington Capitals suffered their first home loss of the new NHL season, falling 3-5 to the Seattle Kraken. Slovak defenseman Martin Fehérváry played 23:32 minutes, recording one minus and leading his team with four blocked shots.

In a separate tactical occurrence during a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Capitals coach Spencer Carbery utilized forward Aliaksiej Protasiuk in a defensive role due to roster shortages caused by injuries and penalties. Protasiuk played a 74-second shift alongside Fehérváry, primarily during four-on-four play, to bolster the depleted defensive unit.
