Washington Commanders regroup during bye week

The Washington Commanders are entering a bye week following a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, leaving the team with a 1-4-1 record. General manager Adam Peters addressed recent performance issues, specifically noting a game management error where quarterback Jayden Daniels threw the ball away on fourth down following a penalty flag. Peters and head coach Dan Quinn emphasized that such mistakes will not be repeated.

In defensive personnel news, the Commanders have hired Steve Wilks. Peters stated that the move had been discussed by Quinn and defensive coordinator Daronte Jones since training camp. Peters noted he was already familiar with Wilks from their previous time together with the 49ers.
