Washington Commanders to increase rookie Antonio Williams' role following Terry McLaurin injury

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn announced that rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams is expected to see an increase in snaps and targets following a season-ending knee injury to Terry McLaurin. McLaurin was sidelined during a Week 6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

While veteran receiver Stefon Diggs will maintain his current workload and responsibilities, particularly on third downs, Williams is projected to see a higher volume of targets, likely operating from the slot. Williams has recorded 18 receptions for 205 yards and one touchdown on 26 targets so far this season, playing in 55% of the team's offensive snaps.

Other players, such as Treylon Burks and Dyami Brown, are expected to handle route responsibilities previously held by McLaurin.
