Washington Commanders waive rookie running back Kaytron Allen

The Washington Commanders have waived rookie running back Kaytron Allen to make roster space for the return of Jeremy McNichols. Allen, a sixth-round pick out of Penn State, appeared in four games during his rookie season, recording 41 rushing yards on 12 carries.

The decision has drawn scrutiny regarding the team's roster management and general manager Adam Peters' draft record. While the team aims to potentially sign Allen to the practice squad, the move highlights a crowded backfield that includes Rachaad White, Austin Ekeler, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Allen previously held the rushing yard record at Penn State before joining the NFL.
