Nature Portfolio calls for research on tectonic and magmatic carbon-cycle drivers

A call for papers has been issued for a cross-journal collection focusing on the tectonic and magmatic drivers of carbon-cycle changes. The initiative aims to examine how these processes control the exchange of carbon between Earth’s interior and surface reservoirs.

Researchers are encouraged to submit studies exploring carbon fluxes through mechanisms such as ridge and arc degassing, subduction recycling, and rift-related volcanism. The collection seeks to integrate various disciplines, including geochemistry, petrology, volcanology, geophysics, and Earth system modeling, to better understand the links between deep carbon cycling and long-term climate, ocean chemistry, and planetary habitability.

The collection is a collaborative effort involving Nature Communications, Communications Earth & Environment, and Scientific Reports.
