Washington, D.C. road closures persist following Freedom 250 Grand Prix

The aftermath of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix continues to impact Washington, D.C., as crews work to dismantle the racecourse. Major road closures are expected to persist through September 3, affecting several key thoroughfares including Constitution Avenue, NW, Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Madison Drive, NW, and Jefferson Drive, SW, between 3rd and 7th streets. Additional lane reductions and parking restrictions on 3rd and 7th Streets will remain in place until September 15.

Due to the racecourse infrastructure, the U.S. Botanic Garden postponed its August Summer Evening Hours concert. The event, featuring Breonna Sharde’ & the Band, has been rescheduled for August 27 at 5 p.m. Drivers are advised to use Independence Avenue, E Street, or the I-395/I-695 tunnels to bypass the National Mall area.
