Washington Spirit defeat Chicago Stars 3-0 in NWSL action

The Washington Spirit defeated the Chicago Stars 3-0 in a National Women’s Soccer League match. Trinity Rodman scored in the seventh minute and later provided an assist to Tamara Bolt to secure the victory.

Andi Sullivan added a second goal for the Spirit via a penalty kick in the 34th minute following a handball by Chicago’s Bea Franklin. Despite being outshot 5-4, Washington controlled approximately 60% of the possession.

In other NWSL action, the Houston Dash defeated the Boston Legacy 2-1 in the debut of interim head coach Jaime Frias. Angel City FC secured a 3-0 shutout against the Utah Royals, and Bay FC won 2-0 against Racing Louisville.
