Washington State mayors begin first-ever delegation visit to India

A delegation of mayors from Washington State is conducting its first-ever visit to India to strengthen ties and foster partnerships at the local and state levels. Led by Washington State Senator Tina Orwall, the group includes representatives from Kent, Tukwila, Issaquah, Mukilteo, DuPont, University Place, and SeaTac.

The delegation departed from Seattle on October 11 and is scheduled to visit New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, and Mumbai through October 18. The mission aims to promote cultural exchange and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as high-tech industries and university partnerships. Senator Orwall noted that the visit focuses on understanding Indian culture, history, and shared democratic values to facilitate meaningful long-term exchanges.
