Washington State traffic forecasts for Labor Day weekend
The Washington State Department of Transportation has released travel time forecasts for the Labor Day weekend to help drivers navigate expected congestion on major mountain passes.
On I-90 heading eastbound, the best travel times are Friday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Return traffic on I-90 is expected to be most congested on Monday, particularly between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
For those using Highway 2 over Stevens Pass, eastbound congestion is expected to be heaviest on Friday from noon to 6 p.m. On Monday, return travelers should expect peak congestion between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
