Washington State women's soccer defeats South Florida 4-1
Washington State women’s soccer secured its first victory of the season and the first under head coach Chris Citowicki, defeating South Florida 4-1 at the Lower Soccer Field in Pullman.
The match began with Lexi Lee scoring a penalty kick for the Cougars in the 13th minute. South Florida managed to equalize in the 62nd minute when Maya Hindson converted a penalty kick, marking her first goal of the season. However, Washington State responded with three goals in a ten-minute span during the second half, scored by Delaney Hawkins, Meg Devall, and Makena Smith.
Washington State goalkeeper Sidney Venier recorded five saves in the win. Following this result, the Cougars are scheduled to travel to face South Dakota State.
