Washington Wizards eye top pick in 2026 NBA Draft

The Washington Wizards hold the No. 1 overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft and are weighing two leading prospects: Kansas guard Darryn Peterson and BYU forward AJ Dybantsa. Peterson met with Wizards officials in Los Angeles and completed on‑court workouts but has declined to hold visits or workouts with any other teams, including the Utah Jazz, who possess the No. 2 pick. His college season was limited by hamstring and ankle injuries and frequent cramping, which raised health questions but apparently did not deter the Wizards.

Dybantsa, the NCAA Division I scoring leader last season, also visited the Wizards and then traveled to Utah as part of his pre‑draft schedule.
