Wasim Jaffer questions Rinku Singh's omission from India T20I squad

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has criticized the Indian team management for the omission of batter Rinku Singh during the T20I series against the West Indies. Jaffer suggested that Singh’s presence in the middle order could have altered the outcome of the fourth T20I, where India lost by 24 runs while chasing a target of 248.

Jaffer noted that Singh is a highly effective left-handed finisher who excels at the number five and six positions. He expressed frustration that Singh has been excluded from the squad, suggesting it may be due to his inability to bowl. Despite a half-century from Sanju Samson and a significant 70-run partnership between Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy, India failed to complete the chase after the West Indies defended their total.

The loss allows the West Indies to level the five-match series at 2-2. The final T20I is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru with the series title at stake.
