Wassenaar Feestweek hosts traditional ringsteken competition

The Wassenaar Feestweek featured its traditional ringsteken competition at Berkheistraat. Organized by the Wassenaarse Oranjevereniging ‘Koningin Wilhelmina’ and Paardensportvereniging ‘Koningin Emma’, the event included both mounted riders and horse-drawn carriages.

In the mounted rider category, Mea and her horse Sven took first place, followed by Daphne with Jinte and Gert Jan with Sandiego. This year’s theme, ‘World Cup Football’, was reflected in the orange-themed attire of many participants.

In the carriage competition, which serves as the second round of the annual Vierdorpencompetitie involving Rijnsburg, Wassenaar, Katwijk aan den Rijn, and Valkenburg, Natasja Gordijn secured first place. Van der Meppel and Danique de Jong followed in second and third, respectively.
