Waste Expo Australia to address industry challenges in 2026

The waste and resource recovery sector is facing increasing complexity due to rising disposal costs, changing waste streams, and higher requirements for recycling quality and circularity. Effective waste management now requires addressing the entire material flow, as improper preparation of bulky or heterogeneous materials can lead to higher transshipment costs, storage pressure, and increased residual waste.

To address these interconnected industry challenges, Waste Expo Australia will return to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 28–29, 2026. The event aims to bring together government, manufacturers, and technology providers to discuss solutions for collection, processing, and safety. Organizations such as TOMRA Cleanaway and Encaps are among those expected to exhibit, focusing on practical solutions to improve recovery outcomes and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
