Waste Landfills addresses Adipa community concerns

Waste Landfills Company Limited has initiated steps to address environmental and public health concerns raised by residents of Adipa and surrounding communities regarding the Adipa Engineered Landfill Site. The concerns stem from the transportation of waste from Accra to the landfill site.

A stakeholder engagement meeting was convened on October 6, 2026, by the Akuapem Traditional Council to establish a committee of relevant stakeholders aimed at finding a lasting solution. The meeting included local government officials, traditional authorities, community representatives, and the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.

Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, CEO of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, acknowledged the community concerns and committed to ongoing engagement. Proposed interventions to support the affected areas include health, water, and education support, alongside periodic health screening exercises for residents.
