Waste management developments reported in Sidoarjo and Madiun

In Sidoarjo, Vice Regent Mimik Idayana inspected the Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) in Krembung Village. The facility was praised for its efficient operations, where waste is sorted and processed within approximately three hours, maintaining a clean environment free from pollution and pests. The village government manages the site with seven personnel, and the model is being highlighted as a potential standard for other villages in the region.

In Madiun Regency, authorities have announced a change in the planned location for a new TPST. Following community protests in Bangunsari Village, the project will instead be relocated to the former Kaliabu landfill in Mejayan. The Head of the Environmental Agency, M. Zahrowi, stated that the site will be developed into a modern waste processing facility. A feasibility study review will be conducted due to the location change, and the Madiun Regent is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry in December.
