Waste management policy changes in French communities
Waste management services in different French regions are implementing seasonal and regulatory changes. In the Pau Agglomeration area, recycling centers in Pau, Lescar, Jurançon, Bizanos, and Bosdarros will adopt winter hours starting October 25, 2026. During this period, sites will close at 17:00 from Monday to Saturday and at 12:00 on Sundays and public holidays.
In the Creuse Grand Sud region, intercommunal recycling centers will stop accepting grass clippings and leaves starting January 1, 2027. While branches will still be accepted, the restriction on leaves and clippings aims to comply with national and regional environmental regulations, such as the AGEC law. This policy is intended to encourage on-site composting to preserve soil moisture and reduce the volume of organic waste transported to facilities.
