Waste management updates in Budaörs and Harghita County

In Budaörs, the local government, in collaboration with MOHU Zrt., has announced a free collection event for hazardous and electronic waste. Scheduled for November 7, 2026, from 9:00 to 15:00, the collection will take place at the Budaörs City USZODA Sport Hall and Beach parking lot. Eligible items include large and small household appliances, IT equipment, consumer electronics, batteries, and up to 16 tires per property. The municipality will also accept non-concession hazardous waste such as empty spray cans, acids, alkalis, and adhesives.

In Harghita County, authorities are addressing concerns regarding the new waste management system set to become operational in December. The Harghita County Integrated Waste Management Association (ADI SIMD) has requested clarification from the National Regulatory Authority for Community Services (ANRSC) regarding the determination of waste management fee affordability thresholds. To address administrative and organizational challenges raised in resident petitions, public forums will be held in Miercurea Ciuc and Odorheiu Secuiesc to provide technical information and discuss pricing criteria.
