Waste management updates in Warsaw and Piotrków Trybunalski
Warsaw is expanding its waste collection infrastructure with the opening of a new selective municipal waste collection point (PSZOK) in the Targówek district at Zabraniecka 4. Scheduled to open on November 2, this facility will be the sixth in the city and will be managed by the Municipal Cleaning Company (Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Oczyszczania). Residents can use the site to dispose of furniture, electronics, batteries, bulbs, textiles, green waste, and chemicals free of charge. The facility will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 17:00.
In Piotrków Trybunalski, the city has announced a tender for a new three-year waste management system. The proposal includes strict technical requirements to increase transparency and control, such as equipping garbage trucks with GPS monitoring, four-camera systems to eliminate blind spots, and legalized scales. These measures aim to allow officials to monitor collection routes and ensure that fees are calculated based on the actual weight of the waste collected.
