Wasyl Tupczij reports rising hostility toward Ukrainians in Poland

Ukrainian volleyball star Wasyl Tupczij has raised concerns regarding the treatment of Ukrainians in Poland following the restructuring of the Jastrzębski Węgiel club. Due to financial reasons, the team will now compete as Jastrzębie Barkom, a merger involving the Ukrainian side Barkom-Każany Lwów.

Tupczij expressed that there is a growing trend of hostility toward Ukrainians in the country. He reported instances within the team where vehicles were damaged and offensive “Go home” messages were posted. Additionally, he noted that the club’s fan zone director stated they would not support the team because it is not a Polish club. Tupczij indicated that this may be his final season playing in Poland.
