Wat Pa Adulyaram abbot calls for calm amid ongoing dispute
The abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen, Phra Khru Adulsarnithet, has urged a local woman, referred to as ‘Pa Da’, to remain calm and maintain composure amidst an ongoing dispute. The abbot stated that he does not intend to file counter-lawsuits against the heirs, regardless of how many legal cases the temple or the monkhood may face.
Despite the tension, religious activities at the temple continue as normal. Monks are performing daily alms rounds, and local Buddhists continue to offer food. Security measures by police and local authorities remain in place to ensure safety.
The abbot encouraged the community not to be stressed by the news, noting that he himself remains calm. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness and viewing others as fellow human beings, stating, “The temple is not going anywhere and the abbot is not going anywhere,” reaffirming his commitment to serving as a spiritual leader for the community.
