Watashi Kobayashi to release two simultaneous concept EPs in September

Singer-songwriter Watashi Kobayashi will release two concept EPs simultaneously on September 16. The two releases, titled ‘Enkei ni Nozou’ and ‘Kyouchuu o Sarau’, each contain five tracks and explore different musical dimensions of her work.

‘Enkei ni Nozou’ focuses on a ‘document’ theme, utilizing acoustic guitars and live instrumentation to emphasize natural textures. In contrast, ‘Kyouchuu o Sarau’ explores an ‘image’ theme through electronic sounds, collaborating with creators from the Vocaloid scene. Arrangers for the project include Itaby, SAKURAmoti, Shirakami Mashiro, Sohbana, Dagashi O-gata, Hamamu Mai-go, and Wada Takeakira.

The cover art for the EPs was illustrated by manga artist Shotaro Taguchi, who designed the artwork to reflect the duality of Kobayashi’s ‘on’ and ‘off’ personas. Additionally, Kobayashi has scheduled solo performances in Osaka on October 25 and Tokyo on November 8.
