Watch industry features Michael Schumacher history and new brand arrivals in Japan

A retrospective on Michael Schumacher’s relationship with timepieces highlights his use of various watches throughout his Formula 1 career. This includes the TAG Heuer S/el collection, which he wore during his early career, and the use of Casio digital watches mounted to his steering wheel in the mid-1990s to monitor lap times. The history also notes commemorative pieces, such as Omega Speedmasters and custom creations from F.P. Journe.

In separate industry news, the upcoming “TOKYO WATCH WOW!!” event in Japan will showcase over 60 microbrands. Featured brands include the Swiss label DWISS, known for its limited production and award-winning industrial design, and the revived British company FEARS, which specializes in small-batch manufacturing. The event offers a platform for international independent brands to debut in the Japanese market.
