Water access developments reported in Peru and Argentina

In Peru, more than 250 families in the Locuto center, Tambogrande, are set to receive direct access to water following the expansion of the supply network in the Los Montero-Córdova sector. This initiative is a collaborative effort between organized community members, local authorities, and Compañía de Minas Buenaventura through the El Algarrobo Project. The project includes the donation of 1,000 meters of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) hose and a high-pressure motor pump to facilitate water delivery to homes.

In Argentina, approximately 1,000 families in the Zampa neighborhood of Resistencia are facing ongoing water access challenges. While a court ruling has maintained an injunction to guarantee water access, residents remain concerned about potential appeals from provincial authorities or Sameep. Neighbors have also reported that recent surveys to assess household needs were incomplete, leaving some families without proper representation in the planning for water distribution and assistance.
