Water authorities in Tamaulipas advance sanitation infrastructure projects
Water and sanitation agencies in Tamaulipas, Mexico, are progressing with significant infrastructure rehabilitation projects to improve drainage networks and prevent sewage leaks.
In Villa Cuauhtémoc, the Altamira Municipal Commission for Drinking Water and Sewerage (COMAPA Altamira) has reached 80 percent completion on the replacement of a 10-inch drainage line. The project involves rehabilitating 120 meters of pipe on José de Escandón Street. Officials expect the work to conclude within two weeks, pending weather conditions, followed by pavement restoration.
Simultaneously, COMAPA SUR is rehabilitating the sanitary network along Cuauhtémoc Avenue in Tampico. The project spans five sections of the avenue to enhance drainage functionality and public health. Work has already been completed and paved in the section between Topiltzin and Lerdo de Tejada, with 93 meters of pipe replaced. Additional work is underway between Humboldt and Nueva, as well as in three other segments including Lázaro Cárdenas and Fidencio Trejo.
