Water conservation and skin care tips during high temperatures
As temperatures rise above 30°C, experts and utility providers like Sabesp are highlighting methods to reduce water waste at home. Key recommendations include shortening shower times, as reducing a ten-minute shower by just two minutes can save approximately 20 liters of water per person. Other essential habits include fixing leaks—where a dripping faucet can waste 40 liters daily—and turning off taps while brushing teeth or shaving.
In addition to conservation, health considerations for mature skin during bathing are being emphasized. For women over 50, particularly post-menopause, skin may experience increased dryness and loss of elasticity. Experts suggest using lukewarm water rather than hot water to avoid stripping natural lipids, limiting showers to five or ten minutes, and applying moisturizer while the skin is still slightly damp to improve hydration.
