Water conservation initiatives launched for Tempo del Creato 2026
As part of the ‘Tempo del Creato 2026’ initiative themed ‘Acqua Viva’, various organizations in Italy are promoting water conservation and sustainable management.
The Laudato Si’ Pinerolo Community has released a ten-point guide for domestic water saving. Recommended practices include using appliances only at full capacity, installing faucet aerators, and choosing showers over baths. The guide also highlights the importance of monitoring water meters, repairing leaks, and being mindful of the water footprint of food products, such as beef and coffee.
In Milan, Archbishop Mario Delpini visited the Nosedo water treatment plant, managed by MM, to engage with workers regarding the essential value of water as a common resource. During the visit, Delpini emphasized the responsibility of those ensuring water quality and availability, noting that the work performed by MM is vital for the city’s sustainability and protection against climate change.
