Water infrastructure developments reported in Plopșoru and Slătinița

Residents in different Romanian localities are experiencing contrasting water infrastructure developments. In the commune of Plopșoru, Gorj county, a water outage lasting over 14 hours has sparked local outrage. Local councilor Dan Pop has demanded explanations from the Water Service and local administration, questioning the management of the public utility and the availability of staff to monitor pumps and intervene during malfunctions.

In contrast, the Slătinița area is nearing the completion of a long-awaited water network project. Bistrița Mayor Gabriel Lazany announced that the operator, Aquabis, has begun filling the network. Following a period of testing to ensure system safety and functionality, water is expected to reach residents' homes. The mayor has encouraged citizens to begin the connection process to the new network to facilitate a quick transition once testing concludes.
