Water infrastructure expands in Romania and Moldova
Water infrastructure projects are expanding in Romania and Moldova to improve access to potable water. In Romania, the Someș Water Company has begun work to extend the water network in Zorenii de Vale, Mociu commune, Cluj County. The investment, valued at approximately 249,000 lei excluding VAT, aims to provide continuous water supply to local families to mitigate the impact of increasing droughts.
In a cross-border development, drinking water from the Iași system in Romania is already reaching Moldova through the Măcărești point. Future expansions of this project aim to connect up to 250,000 Moldovans in western districts to the Romanian water supply system.
