Water infrastructure upgrades underway in Široki Brijeg (BA) and Stobreč (HR)

In Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a new phase of works began on 7 July to build a sewer collector and reconstruct the water‑supply network on Franjevača street in the Grabovina neighbourhood. The street will be closed to all traffic except residents until the works are finished. The works are part of a larger project installing fecal collectors D and E (total length 975.63 m) and a storm‑water collector (350 m) that started in November 2025.

In Stobreč, Croatia, the final segment of a new 1,013‑metre magistral water‑supply network was completed on Put sv. Lovre street. The network is part of the €321.3 million “Improvement of water‑ and sanitation‑infrastructure of the Split‑Solin agglomeration” project, with 68 % of the eligible costs funded by the EU Cohesion Fund and the remainder from national sources. The project aims to meet EU directives on wastewater treatment and drinking‑water quality and to expand water‑supply coverage for residents of the Split‑Solin area.
