Water Lantern Festival announces upcoming events in London and Richmond

The Water Lantern Festival is hosting several upcoming events designed to foster community reflection through the ritual of releasing eco-friendly floating lanterns.

In London, the festival will take place at Danson Park on September 5, followed by events at Clapham Common on September 19 and 20. Co-produced with the tech platform Fever, these sessions include live music, local food vendors, and recreational activities. Participants can write personal messages or wishes on lanterns before setting them afloat on the water.

In the Richmond area, the festival will visit Dorey Park in Henrico County on August 22 as part of its new Radiant Tour. This tour emphasizes personal connection and introspection. The event features live music, yard games, and a scavenger hunt. Organizers have stated that a dedicated cleanup crew will retrieve all lanterns and materials from the water following the event to ensure environmental safety.
