Water mains renovations cause road closures in Lainate and Vignola, Italy

The CAP water‑supply project on Via Lainate near Rho will move north of the SS33 Sempione road from 9 July, establishing a one‑way southbound traffic flow and reducing the lane width to 30 km/h. The fifth phase of the works, scheduled to run until 6 September, will affect the stretch between Via Sila‑Sicilia and the state road, with public transport detoured via Via Ratti.

In Vignola, a Hera‑managed 200‑metre aqueduct renewal on Via Modenese is disrupting traffic between Viale Mazzini and Via Livello. Mayor Angelo Pasini urged drivers to plan alternative routes, stating, "La posizione dell’amministrazione – ha detto - è quella scritta nel post pubblicato sui canali social ufficiali." The closure, except for residents and emergency vehicles, will remain in force until 26 July, with a pause on Thursdays for the weekly market. The project, costing €70,000, will not interrupt water service.

Both projects aim to improve drinking‑water supply while imposing temporary traffic inconveniences for local commuters.
