Water management events scheduled in Orzinuovi and Serra de’ Conti
Various educational events in Italy will address water management from both modern agricultural and ancient historical perspectives.
In Orzinuovi, Coldiretti Brescia is organizing a meeting titled ‘Ogni goccia conta – Le risposte dell’agricoltura moderna’ (Every drop counts – The responses of modern agriculture). The event will bring together academics, regional officials, and agricultural experts to discuss how the sector can respond to water resource challenges. Participants include representatives from the University of Trento, the University of Verona, the Consorzio dell’Oglio, and the Lombardy Region.
In Serra de’ Conti, a conference titled ‘La gestione dell’acqua nelle città romane tra approvvigionamento, riciclo ed evacuazione’ (Water management in Roman cities between supply, recycling, and evacuation) will examine ancient hydraulic systems. Using the Roman center of Ostra as a case study, scholars from the University of Bologna and Université Clermont Auvergne will discuss how Romans managed water through cisterns, sewage systems, and recycling techniques.
