Water management professionals meet in Valencia to discuss reuse
More than 300 professionals gathered in Valencia to analyze the current state and future of water reuse. Organized by the Facsa-Fovasa Chair of the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ), the event focused on advancements in treatment, analytical control, and risk management.
While agriculture currently accounts for nearly all water reuse in the Valencian Community, discussions highlighted potential new applications in urban, industrial, and environmental sectors, including indirect potable reuse. Experts emphasized that technological progress is providing greater sanitary and environmental guarantees, making regenerated water a strategic resource for addressing water scarcity and increasing territorial resilience.
