Water scarcity issues reported in San Luis Potosí and La Granja

Residents of the La Loma Club de Golf neighborhood in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, report being without potable water for 12 days. Neighbors have expressed frustration with the municipal government led by Enrique Galindo Ceballos, noting that the shortage affects daily activities and forces residents to purchase expensive water tankers, with some costs reaching 2,500 pesos. Similar shortages have been reported in Lomas del Tecnológico, where residents have been without service for six days. Residents claim that water supply issues have become more frequent since service transitioned to municipal management.

In La Granja, Spain, local authorities are debating a 2.2 million euro project to reduce dependence on water from El Mar due to severe scarcity. Mayor Samuel Alonso described the current situation as the worst on record regarding stored water levels and consumption. The proposed project, involving ACUAES, includes renewing aging pipes, modernizing pumping stations, and creating new infrastructure to ensure human consumption can be met through alternative sources rather than relying solely on mountain reserves.
