Water shortages prompt rationing pleas in Lička and Dobrota

The public water utility Ličke vode d.o.o. in Lička County, Croatia, warned residents to use water rationally because of a prolonged dry spell, reduced spring yields and increased strain on the supply system. The notice asks people to limit activities such as lawn irrigation, car washing and filling pools and says temporary reductions in supply may be necessary if conditions do not improve.

In Dobrota, a village in the Kotor municipality of Montenegro, the local council demanded that regional and city water authorities provide clear explanations for a multi‑day drinking‑water shortage. The council questioned possible damage to a submarine pipe, reduced capacity of nearby sources and the feasibility of costly desalination, and criticised the lack of reliable information from the water companies.
