Water supply disruptions reported in Juiz de Fora and São Paulo state

Water supply disruptions are affecting multiple regions in Brazil due to maintenance and infrastructure issues. In Juiz de Fora, scheduled services by Cesama and Cemig are expected to impact water availability on Thursday. Cesama is performing a network interconnection in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida neighborhood, affecting several areas including Bonfim, Grajaú, and Jardim das Flores. Additionally, Cemig is conducting electrical maintenance in the Retiro neighborhood, which may impact the Loteamento Florestinha area.

In other regions, residents of Paulínia, Hortolândia, and Monte Mor have faced ongoing water shortages following a failure in the Sabesp catchment system. The disruption, which began late last week, was caused by heavy rains that moved sediment into the system, damaging equipment. While Sabesp has been working to replace damaged components and remove sediment, some areas continue to report shortages. Local authorities in Paulínia have deployed water trucks to priority locations, such as schools and the Municipal Hospital.
