Water supply disruptions reported in Piedras Negras and Oaxaca

In Piedras Negras, Coahuila, a new electrical failure from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has caused low water pressure for more than 4,000 users across 13 neighborhoods. The Municipal System of Water and Sanitation (SIMAS) reported that the affected areas include 28 de Junio, Juárez, Buena Vista Norte, Buena Vista Sur, Hidalgo, Vista Hermosa, Infonavit, Las Torres, San Luis, Loma Bonita, Privada Loma Bonita, Central, and Hacienda Escondida. SIMAS has advised responsible water use but has not provided an estimated time for the restoration of normal service.

In Oaxaca de Juárez, the State Water Commission for Wellbeing (Ceabien) and the Water and Sewerage Services Operator (Soapa) reported that water supply is normalizing in the northern sector. Following repairs to electrical and mechanical failures at the Sierra Juárez pumping tank, including the installation of a new motor and transformer, water distribution is gradually advancing through the affected neighborhoods and residential areas.
