Water supply interruptions in Sarajevo and Niš amid scheduled pipe repairs
On July 18‑20 the public water utility in Sarajevo (Vodovod i Kanalizacija) will carry out repairs on its distribution network, leading to temporary service outages or reduced pressure in many neighborhoods. A larger repair on the main pipeline from the Mojmilo reservoir begins on July 20 at 05:00, causing low pressure and possible full interruptions in higher‑lying parts of the city, including central districts such as Baščaršija, Marijin Dvor and surrounding areas. Normal service is expected to resume in the afternoon after each day's work.
In Niš, Serbia, the municipal water company is performing maintenance at more than 20 sites. While most streets should see restoration by 15:00 each day, several villages and neighborhoods—including Niška Banja, Popovac, Trupala, Vrtište and others—will remain without water until Tuesday, July 21. Residents have been asked to store enough water for basic needs.
