Water supply interruptions reported in several Romanian cities
Several regions in Romania are experiencing scheduled and emergency water supply interruptions due to infrastructure maintenance and repairs.
In Topoloveni, Apă Canal 2000 SA has announced a planned water outage for September 21, 2026, between 9:00 and 16:00. The interruption affects users on Vițichești, Ion Răducanu, and Livezilor streets. The shutdown is necessary to connect a newly constructed water pipe on Vâlceaua Podului street to the existing network as part of a broader expansion and rehabilitation project.
In Maramureș, VITAL SA reported multiple interventions on September 18, 2026. In Baia Mare, water supply was interrupted on Regele Mihai I Boulevard, Unirii Boulevard, and Gh. Bilașcu street due to a network failure caused by ongoing works, as well as repairs on Garofei and Păunului streets. In Sighetu Marmației, residents on Bogdan Vodă, Solovan, and Locul Târgului streets faced outages lasting until late evening due to repair works. The company stated these interruptions are necessary for the modernization and rehabilitation of the distribution network.
