Ecuadorian fishermen targeted by mysterious drone attacks in the Pacific

Reports suggest the CIA may be involved in a series of mysterious drone attacks targeting Ecuadorian fishing boats in the Pacific Ocean. According to investigations by The Washington Post and The New York Times, these strikes may be part of a covert foreign operation approved by the U.S. President.

Survivors of the attacks reported encountering English-speaking assailants wearing uniforms with American flag patches, though no official government insignia was present. One vessel, the Fiorella, disappeared in January, leaving eight crew members missing and presumed dead according to the United Nations. Other survivors described being surveilled by a maritime patrol plane based in El Salvador before being attacked.

The Pentagon and the U.S. Coast Guard have denied any involvement in these incidents. While some survivors noted being interrogated and subsequently released to the El Salvador navy, the exact motive and identity of the attackers remain unconfirmed.
