Water tariffs to increase in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Granada

Residents and businesses in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will see an average increase of 2.2% in water supply tariffs following a resolution published in the Boletín Oficial de Canarias. The price adjustment applies to potable water consumption and is structured in tiers: the first 10 cubic meters cost 0.51 euros per unit, with prices rising progressively for higher consumption levels. A fixed service fee based on meter size also applies.

In Granada, the City Council has approved a fiscal ordinance modification that includes a 2.2% average increase in water, sewage, and purification bills for 2027. To mitigate the impact, the city is expanding social discounts, offering a 90% reduction on fixed fees and initial consumption blocks for vulnerable groups, including large families with low incomes, pensioners, and people with disabilities. Additionally, the commercial tariff is being restructured into three consumption tiers to support small businesses.
