Water-themed cultural festivals held in Ameglia and Riviera del Brenta

Various cultural water-themed events are taking place in Italy. In Ameglia, the ‘Festa delle Acque’ is scheduled for October 4 at the Rotonda della Locanda Il Pilota in Fiumaretta. The event concludes a research project by visual artist Ilaria Turba, who collected stories, legends, and memories related to local water sources, including the Magra river and the mysterious petrifying spring known as the Fada di Ameglia. The festival will feature the unveiling of three photographic works inspired by these local narratives.

In the Riviera del Brenta, the 48th edition of the ‘Riviera Fiorita’ festival concludes on September 13 with a traditional water procession. The parade of decorated boats practicing ‘Voga alla veneta’ will travel along the Brenta Canal from Stra to Malcontenta. The procession includes various stops in Fiesso d'Artico, Dolo, Mira, and Oriago, accompanied by costumed figures and musical performances.
