Water treatment plant construction completed in Tempio Pausania
Construction has concluded on the Pischinaccia water treatment system in Tempio Pausania. The project, valued at over 16 million euros, involved expanding the existing plant and establishing a connection with the Monte di Deu dam.
The infrastructure includes approximately 6.5 kilometers of new pipelines with a 400-millimeter diameter to link the Monte di Deu reservoir to the Pischinaccia plant. Additionally, a lifting station with a capacity of roughly 120 liters per second was constructed. This system is designed to integrate various water sources, including the Filaschedda springs, the Suliana crossing, and the Monte di Deu reservoir, while providing a backup resource from Pattada during droughts or service disruptions.
The project is expected to serve over 50,000 residents across five municipalities: Tempio, Aggius, Bortigiadas, Calangianus, and Luras. The system is now entering a testing phase. Abbanoa is currently coordinating with E-Distribuzione to finalize necessary electrical infrastructure and cabin upgrades required to power the treatment plant and the dam's lifting system.
