Water utilities in Sinaloa report changes in user payment trends

Water utility providers in Sinaloa, Mexico, are reporting updates regarding user payment trends and collection strategies.

In Ahome, the Junta de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado del Municipio de Ahome (JAPAMA) has seen a 12.11% increase in online payments during August. General Manager Emmanuel Higuera Terraza noted that digital tools, including the JAPAMA Móvil app and the official website, allow users to settle bills quickly and securely without visiting physical offices.

In Mazatlán, the Junta Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Mazatlán (Jumapam) reports that 75% of its users are current with their payments. Commercial Manager Óscar Humberto Calzadillas Pérez attributed this to direct outreach programs and neighborhood visits. Jumapam is also working to resolve outstanding debts by offering socioeconomic studies to determine payment alternatives and is attempting to clean up accounts for uninhabited properties.
