Waterproof smartphones enter the Rp2 million budget segment
Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly bringing high-level durability features, such as IP68, IP69, and IP69K ingress protection certifications, to the entry-level and mid-range markets. Devices priced around Rp2 million are now offering protection against high-pressure water sprays and submersion, making them more suitable for outdoor activities.
Key models in this segment include the Realme C75x, which features IP69 certification and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability, and the Realme C75, which offers IP68 and IP69K protection. The Vivo Y21d also provides comprehensive physical protection through multiple IP ratings and military standard testing. Other notable mentions include the Realme C85 4G, which features a 7,000 mAh battery, and the Oppo A3 Pro 5G.
While these devices offer enhanced resistance to water, dust, and impacts, consumers are advised that IP certifications are based on specific testing standards and do not guarantee total immunity to water damage under all conditions.
