Texas woman charged with capital murder in fatal shooting of two sons
Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42, has been charged with two counts of capital murder following the fatal shooting of her two sons in Waxahachie, Texas.
According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an emergency call at a residence on Big Sky Drive around 4 a.m. on Thursday, October 1. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds to the head. His 15-year-old brother, Brian Pitre, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.
Investigators reported that Lemmon was found inside the home with non-life-threatening injuries, appearing to have inflicted lacerations on her own wrists. An arrest affidavit states that Lemmon allegedly confessed to responding officers, saying, “I shot both my kids.”
The motive for the killings remains unclear. Lemmon was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center, and her bond is pending arraignment.
